Quisut – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026 · Applies to: Quisut browser extension, version 0.1.5 and later Who we are (data controller): Quisut (a trading name), United Kingdom, contact support@quisut.com
The short version
- Nothing leaves your device. The extension has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no adverts and no tracking. It makes no network requests at all.
- All checking happens on your computer, inside your browser.
- It keeps a small history of warnings and your trusted sites on your device only. You can delete them at any time.
- We never sell, share or receive your data, because we never have it.
What the extension looks at
To do its job, the extension reads the web pages you visit and checks them for hidden text aimed at AI tools. On popular AI chat sites (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Grok) it also checks what you type for things like card numbers, so it can warn you before you send them.
This reading happens in your browser, in memory. Page text and anything you type are not saved and not sent anywhere. They are forgotten when you close the tab.
What is stored on your device, and for how long
| What | Exactly what is kept | How long | How to delete |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warning history | Date and time, the site and page path (for example https://example.com/news, never the part after ?, and never the page title), the number of warnings, how serious they were, the names of the rules that matched, and whether you marked it as a false alarm |
Up to 90 days, and at most the latest 200 entries. Older entries are deleted automatically | Click Clear history in the shield's window, or remove the extension |
| Trusted sites | The web addresses of sites you chose to trust (site name only, for example https://example.com) |
Until you remove them | Click Remove next to the site under Trusted sites, or remove the extension |
Both are stored with Chrome's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer. They are not synced to your Google account, and websites cannot read them.
"This warning is a mistake" reports
If you click This warning is a mistake, the warning is marked as a false alarm in your local history. The extension then shows an anonymous report that you can choose to copy or email to us. It contains only:
- the name of the rule that matched,
- a short piece of the flagged text (at most 200 characters, with email addresses, links, numbers and other personal details removed), and
- the site name with no page path or query (for example https://example.com), plus the extension version.
Nothing is sent automatically. "Copy report" puts it on your clipboard. "Email it to us" opens your own email app with the report filled in, and you decide whether to send it. If you email us, we use your email only to reply and to improve the extension, and we delete it within 12 months.
Permissions, in plain words
- "Read and change all your data on all websites" (content scripts on all sites): needed to check every page you visit for hidden text and to show the warning banner on that page. The checking happens on your computer, and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Storage: to keep your warning history and trusted sites on your device.
- The extension also has a small background helper. It opens the welcome page once after you install, passes warnings from embedded frames to the main page, and colours the shield icon. It uses no extra permissions and makes no network requests.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Because we don't collect or receive any personal data from the extension, there is normally nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. Your data is on your own device, and you control it. If you email us, you have the right to access, correct or delete that email correspondence. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
The extension is not aimed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If we ever change how the extension handles data, we will update this policy and the date above before the change goes live. We will ask for your permission first before adding anything that sends data off your device.
